Pandosy Sculpture

The Father Pandosy Mission 150th Anniversary Commemorative Sculpture. 2012. Bronze. The City of Kelowna Public Art Collection

This sculpture was created to commemorate the sesquicentennial of the Okanagan Valley's oldest Euro-Canadian, permanent settlement: The Okanagan Mission, in Kelowna, BC. This sculpture was created in communication with Westbank First Nation and is intended, in part, to encourage awareness and contemplation of Syilx culture and the impact settlement has had on it.

The sculpture features a relief of the Four Food Chiefs of the Syilx people: Black Bear, Salmon, Bitterroot, and Saskatoon, as well as Coyote.

A limited edition of twenty artist-signed bronze maquettes is available. Please email crystal.kay.przybille@gmail.com.
