The Hands of Time
2013. Bronze. The City of Victoria Public Art Collection
The artwork The Hands of Time was created to commemorate the City of Victoria's 150th Anniversary. It consists of twelve bronze sculptures of life-sized hands holding objects symbolic of the Victoria area's history and identity. Two of the sculptures were created in collaboration with Indigenous artists: Carving a Canoe Paddle was created in collaboration with Clarence Dick, and Digging Camas Bulbs was created in collaboration with Carolyn Memnook. The sculptures are found in twelve locations in, encouraging a sense of discovery and contemplation.
A walking tour brochure of the sculptures has been created by the City of Victoria.
